Weigh Forward

Active Workforce

Active Workforce offer a 6 Week Weight Management Programme, 'Weigh Forward'. The Weigh Forward Team focus on calorie deficit, the only way to lose weight! They deliver the sessions online on Microsoft Teams, face to face in Sefton's Leisure Centres & Community Centres, and they can also come out to your workplace to deliver where suitable.

NHS Health checks

Active Workforce

Active Workforce offer 10 minute health checks in the workplace. We check blood pressure, resting heart rate, weight, height, BMI and waist circumference.

Exercise referral

Active Workforce

The Exercise Referral Programme is aimed at improving the health and well-being of employees, with a particular emphasis on those who suffer with health problems that affect both their working and daily lives.

What is the Programme? 
  • A 12-week supported programme of physical activity for individuals with health conditions under the guidance of an Exercise Referral Officer.

  • Includes health and well-being screening before, during and after the programme to assess health benefits and general progress.

  • Gives subsidised use of all Sefton Council Leisure Centres.

  • Offers the opportunity to take part in the programme alongside a buddy (partner, carer or friend) at the same subsidised price to increase motivation and commitment. 

  • Allows reduced price membership as part of the Active Workforce Programme after completion. 

How can you access the programme?
  • Contact us direct on: active.workforce@sefton.gov.uk

  • Ask your GP or OH Officer to complete the Self-Referral form and send back to the Active Workforce Team

  • Attend an appointment with our Exercise Referral Officer

  • Complete your fitness induction at your preferred centre, or start your home-based exercise

  • Enjoy your 12-week programme supported by your Exercise Referral Officer

  • Achieve a healthy lifestyle
