Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre is the ideal place to experience a wide variety of water-sports, including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and jetski.

 

We offer people of all abilities the opportunity to join us and train towards a National Governing Body awards in Sailing, Windsurfing, Jetski and Paddling.

Getting young people out on the water...

Whether you're looking to keep them occupied during the school holidays or they want to be on the water regularly, we have a range of sessions dedicated to young people.

Each school holiday there are a range of exciting activities where they can take part in a specific sport or mix and match with our Adventure Days. All our sessions are Monday to Friday for 8-16 years old.

If they love it, we have weekly clubs and sessions to help them improve and, if they want, compete out on the water.

Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre, a great day out for all the family...

Come along and try our selection of activities suitable for all the family including Miniport boats, rowing boats, sit on top kayaks, open canoes and stand up paddleboards.

 

Miniports are suitable for all ages, other activities for children over 8 years old, supervised by an adult (rowing boats subject to safety equipment fitting correctly).

(Miniport boats are arrive and sail, subject to weather)

Open Water Swimming is back at Crosby Lakeside. A truly different experience to the pool, without the confines of lane ropes or walls, it’s liberating, adventurous and unique. Safety provision is provided in all open water swimming sessions.

RYA Start Windsurfing Course 

This two day RYA Accredited Start Windsurfing course is the ideal introduction to the exciting world of windsurfing. Utilising modern boards and rigs learning the basics of this sport couldn't be easier, all tuition will be overseen by our dedicated team of fully qualified instructor who will have you blasting across the water in no time.

RYA Start Sailing Weekend 

Whether you want to escape daily stresses or seek the adrenalin rush of racing, nothing compares to being in control of your own boat.

Each two day course is delivered by fully qualified instructors who all have the experience to give you the best possible support whilst learning to sail.

 

The centre has fleets of both single-handed and crewed dinghies. The course sets out the foundations of sailing, rigging, launching, capsize recovery, and the essential safety knowledge. This will culminate with you taking to the waves on your own.

Learn to Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) 

Stand-up paddle-boarding is a great complete body workout and one of the most popular on water sports around. This fantastic one day course will teach you how to paddle the board and make the most of your time on the water. During the course of the day you will be taught how to stand, hold your paddle, a variety of paddle strokes and how to turn the board. This one day course is a fantastic accompaniment to the SUP Fitness courses.

2 Day Improver Sailing Course

Adult Learn to Kayak Course 

 

More and more people are grabbing a boat and taking to the water to enjoy the rivers, lakes and coasts of the UK. If you want to either improve on a skill or simply have a go, the centre offers you the opportunity you won’t find at many other facilities.

The first step in this journey is a flat water award that demonstrates an individual has the basic boat control and foundation skills. This 2 day course can be taken in any kind of paddle-sport craft.

Adult 2 Day Improver Sailing Course 

This 2 Day Adult Improver course follows the RYA Sylabus and is intended for people who have undertaken a beginners sailing course. Over the weekend our highly qualified experienced instructors will work through a variety of practical tasks to improve your sailing and develop your skills.

RYA Powerboat Level 2 - 2 Day Course 

This two day course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the international certificate of competence. It includes close quarters handling, high speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations.

Each course is delivered by fully qualified instructors and will give you an excellent start in this exciting sport.

Try out taster sessions of our most exciting activities during these days you will get to experience a range of new and exhilarating activities with sports which could include, for ages 8 years and older: Sailing, Archery, Climbing, Windsurfing, Bellboating, Kayaking, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Problem Solving, Orienteering, Canoeing, Raft Building, Soft Fencing.

 

These days happen Monday to Friday during the school holidays.
